Job Summary/ Objective
The Administrative Coordinator will work closely with the clergy team in a large Jewish synagogue. The Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for managing complex calendars, handling communications, preparing documents, and overseeing various office tasks, while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism; often requiring strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
Reports to: Clergy Executive Assistant
Essential Functions:
All positions at Schaarai Zedek require individuals to be a strong multi-tasker and independent problem-solver, have excellent communications skills, work well under supervisions, and be extremely organized.
Key responsibilities include:
Calendar Management:
Maintaining clergy’s calendars, including all b’nei mitzvah appointments, meetings, and all necessary deadlines regarding b’nei mitzvah services

Communication Management:
Answering phone calls, screening emails, and directing inquiries to appropriate parties.

Document Preparation:
Drafting and editing correspondence, programs, and other documents.

Project Management:
Assisting with special projects, tracking progress, and ensuring deadlines are met.

Confidentiality:
Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information.

Required Skills:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
Discretion and ability to handle sensitive information
Detail-oriented with high accuracy standards

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
5+ years of relevant work experience
Professionalism and maturity, demonstrated ability to lead, cooperation in a team atmosphere, and a strong work ethic are expectations for this position
Ability to work occasional Saturdays or evenings.
